Miss Vera Wing-han YUEN received her M.S. in Comparative Social Policy from the University of Oxford in 2011. She also holds a B.B.A. in Global Business and Finance (minoring in China Studies) from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST). She is now a PhD candidate in Politics and Public Administration.
Vera joined the School of Economics and Finance at the University of Hong Kong in 2014 as Assistant Lecturer. She also held teaching positions at the School of Communication of Hong Kong Baptist University, and at the School of Humanities and Social Science of HKUST before joining HKU. She was Consultant to Our Hong Kong Foundation in 2015, and Chief Researcher at the Community Development Initiative, a community think tank, in 2010.
Vera is eager to serve the community. She has been appointed a member of the Panel of Film Censorship Adviser of the Office for Film, Newspaper and Article Administration since 2013. In 2016, she was elected a member of the Election Committee for the Chief Executive of Hong Kong. In 2017, she was appointed a member of the Appeal Panel (Housing). She is a current affairs commentator and columnist in major newspapers and media. Joining hands with NGOs, she engages herself in youth education and policy education.
