Academic Programmes

Building on
a Century of Excellence

Bachelor of Business Administration (Information Systems) [BBA(IS)] {in conjunction with BEng(CS)}*

The BBA(IS) programme is designed to give students a unique edge in the IT world by providing training in the fields of both business administration and information technology. It is jointly offered by the School of Business and the Department of Computer Science, and consists of a mixture of business and computer science courses.

This double-degree programme blends two strategic disciplines into a single programme for the ambitious and highly motivated. Students of the BBA(IS) programme are required to complete 240 credit units for the 4-year curricula. Graduates of the programme may also choose to undertake one more year of study to complete the degree of Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science [BEng(CS)] in the Faculty of Engineering. The programme is suitable for students seeking a broader education with a special focus on the synergy between business and information technologies and a high degree of flexibility in their future careers.

The BBA(IS)/BEng(CS) programme is accredited by the Hong Kong Institute of Engineers. The BBA(IS) programme also aligns with the ISACA Model Curriculum for IS Audit and Control, 3rd Edition. Graduates are qualified for one year work experience towards the Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA®) designation.

*Please note that the fifth year of this double-degree programme operates on a self-financing basis, and the fees are therefore slightly higher than the usual undergraduate fees. Those requiring financial assistance can apply for non-means tested loans, repayable at an interest rate to be determined by the Government.
