Dr. Claudian Kwok joined The University of Hong Kong (HKU) in 2010. His research interest is in the area of Financial Economics and Macroeconomics, with a focus on implications of capital market imperfections on the macro-economy and asset pricing. For example, his paper “An Aggregate Model of Firm Specific Capital with and without Commitment” (in Journal of Monetary Economics (2001) studies how capital market imperfections can affect aggregate fluctuations.
Claudian has taught a variety of Economics and Finance courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels in the U.S. and in Hong Kong. In recent years, he is devoted to undergraduate Economics education. He is constantly exploring and experimenting with different teaching pedagogies to arouse students’ interest in Economics and enhance student learning. He has won teaching awards in The Chinese University of Hong Kong, City University of Hong Kong and The University of Hong Kong.
